About

I am a father of two, interested in the messages given off by pop culture consumer products that will target them.  As a student/teacher of literature, I am concerned with the fact that some of the most powerful vessels of ideology come from pop culture, and too often they act on our subconscious by reinforcing class boundaries, gender roles, or neoliberal conquest.  My project here is an attempt to uncover the politics that guides the logic of cultural products in order to better understand the messages and their connections to power structures.  More importantly, like any good Marxist, the project is to uncover the forces that structure our perceptions and beliefs and their relationship to culture.
